Start this spring checklist so you can make the most of the season in your home!

Spring Clean

Probably not everyone’s favourite thing to do, but nothing will bring freshness like a good top to bottom scrubbing.

This is the best time to air out mattresses, clean rugs, toss old stained and ripped clothes and just revamp the house. For a thorough spring-cleaning checklist, you will love this post I did Spring Cleaning Guide.

Change Your Wardrobe

This is the best time to start putting your heavy thick clothes away and start bringing out those fun bright dresses and skirts.

Swapping out your winter clothes for spring and summer will really help you to embrace the season. If you are in need of new clothes go op shopping!

This is a great place to find beautiful, cheap clothes and at the same time you can bring any clothes you no longer want yourself.

Plant a Garden

Beautiful colourful flowers growing in a garden.

Even if you don’t have much of a yard you can still plant flowers, herbs and vegetables. Wether you have seedling at the windowsill, pots on a balcony or lovely raised garden beds a garden says spring is here!

Depending on the space you have, and your food preferences will determine what you plant. You can’t go wrong with herbs, flowers and salads though!

You will be grateful once they have grown, and you can enjoy them through the end of spring and summer. Plus growing some food will help save you money herbs and greens aren’t cheap to purchase at the shops. Neither are flowers!

Cant forget to add Spring crafts to this homemaking checklist! This is such a lovely time to get crafting!

Showcase spring in your home by hanging flower or herbs to dry around the house.

Preserve some of the beautiful spring flowers with a pressed flower lantern or Preserving flowers in oil!

Try your hands at making macrame hanging pot planters, creating some beautiful bright mosaic stones for you garden.

It’s such a fun time to get crafting!

Make Treats

Embrace the spring with homemade scones, chocolate chip cookies, sourdough shortbread cookies or homemade Chocolate cheesecake. Bring spring flavours with the jams you use, add lemon into your baked goods, experiment using lavender in your drinks and goodies.

Have fun and try using seasonal produce when making your treats to really embrace the season.

Make homemade Ice Teas

Now that the weather is getting warmer this is the perfect time to make some delicious homemade iced teas! From peach Iced tea, to a delicious Chamomile Berry Iced Tea there are so many fun flavoured teas to try.

Make a larger amount to keep in your fridge as a refreshing beverage while you are out gardening or reading a book on the porch.

There’s something truly beautiful about a pitcher of iced tea, filled with ice, floating fruit and some peppermint leaves inside. You just can’t do that in winter!

Try Out New Recipes

Start getting creative in the kitchen and try new recipes using seasonal produce. Wether it’s a fun spring salad, a new dressing like honey mustard or chipotle dressing or delicious wraps you will have an endless list of must try recipes!

This is great time to go for simpler recipes, that don’t require a lot of cooking in the kitchen. We want to get outdoors more and enjoy the season.

Have a Gathering

Don’t forget to add to your spring homemaking checklist to have a gathering! Invite some friends or family over and enjoy the outdoors together.

Have everyone bring a plate so it’s not all on you, have a lovely pitcher of spring tea, some flowers in a vase and some goodies and your gathering will be a success.

After being cooped up in the home all winter this is what everyone needs to brighten up their mood.

Add flowers and plants into the home

Nothing screams spring likes live flowers and lush green plants! The bright colours of the flowers not only are aesthetically pleasing, but they really do bring a smile and lovely scents to the home.

Green plants and flowers can brighten any space and lift up one’s mood. Make sure to buy plants that like being indoors and I’ve found watering less often seems to keep them alive better!

Certain flowers last longer than others as well, so go for flowers like chrysanthemums, orchids or carnations.

Adding a little sugar and vinegar, 2 drops of tea tree oil, or plant food to help enhance the lifespan of your cut flowers!

Change out paintings or picture frames to spring theme

Now that it’s spring change out some of your paintings on the wall or pictures in the frames to spring theme images.

Think bright flowers, picnic, flowing creeks, sunny barnyard. Whatever catches your fancy. But changing up the images can really change up the feel in the home.

It also keeps your house interesting and fun to look at. Bright colours can enhance your mood and will make that space even more beautiful!

Conclusion

I hope you found this spring homemaking checklist fun and exciting. While you don’t have to do everything, you should definitely give some of these a go and embrace the spring season. Let me know in the comments which one you are most excited to do?
