Why Make This Watermelon Soda Drink

- Cheap to make: This watermelon soda is pretty cheap to make. Definitely when watermelons are in season or you are growing your own! Just a few ingredients are all that’s needed to make a refreshing drink you will love!
- Quick and easy: This is a very simple recipe literally chop, blend and optional sieve! Then it’s done. Either serve right away with ice or let it sit in the fridge overnight for even more flavour!
Tips for The Best Drink

- If you let your drink sit in the fridge overnight the flavours, get stronger and it taste even better the next day!
- While you don’t have too, I like to sieve the drink through a strainer for little seed and peppermint pieces to be sieved out.
- Add a few more peppermint leaves not just for look but also adds a beautiful flavour, if you do it overnight the flavours are all enhanced!
- I prefer soda water over tonic water. Soda water doesn’t have its own flavour while tonic water can take away from the lovely watermelon and lime juice.
What You Need to Make It

Ingredients
- 4 cups watermelon chopped: I just rough chop as the blender will do the work!
- 2 tbsp Lime juice: I use freshly squeezed lime for that fresh flavour, but you can use the storebought lime juice if you’d like.
- 1/3 cup water: I use filtered water just to help the blender start blending the watermelon.
- 1/3 cup honey: You can use whatever sweetener you like but I love the taste honey adds and its natural and healthy!
- 8-9 Peppermint leaves: We have fresh peppermint so I just use them, but you can also use 1-2 drops food grade peppermint oil if you like!
- Soda water: The amount you add at the end is up to you. I like to fill my cup or container 2/3 with watermelon juice and the rest with the soda water. This adds the fizz and doesn’t dilute the flavour that much when I add this amount.
Supplies
- Blender: You will need a blender to blend all the ingredients together.
- A jug or container: To pour your juice into
- Sieve: Optional if you want to strain out watermelon seeds and peppermint pieces.
How to Make Watermelon Soda (Step by Step)

- Chop up your watermelon into chunks. The smaller you chop it the easier the blender will blend it.

- Place the watermelon, water, lime juice, honey and peppermint leaves into the blender.

4. Blend on medium to high for a couple minutes. Add a little more water if the blender isn’t blending the watermelon to help get it started.
