This baked crispy chicken wing recipe is absolutely amazing. Flavourful wings with a serious crunch factor and meat that falls off the bone.

My family loves when I make these and luckily wings are super easy to bake. It’s a great filling dinner or lunch when you want something easy or if you are on a budget.

Crispy Chicken Wing Tips

  1. Don’t add too much oil to your mix. The oil helps give your wings a lovely crispy skin but too much oil and your wings will be on the soggier side.
  2. Make sure your oven is already preheated to the right temperature. For crispy wings you need high heat.
  3. Drain the excess liquid when you do your first flip. This will give you crispy wings but the juices for the 1st 20 minutes also make the meat more tender on the inside.

Chicken Wing Ingredients

1.5kg/ 3lbs chicken wings round about.

1tbsp sea salt

A tsp smoked paprika

1 tbsp sweet paprika

1 tbsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp of black ground black pepper

1 tsp onion powder

2 tbsp olive oil

How To Make Chicken Wings Step by Step

  1. Preheat oven to 200C/ 400F
  2. Mix all the dry ingredients together.
  3. Add olive oil to the dry ingredients and mix.
  4. Pour the mixture over the chicken wings and mix thoroughly in a bowl until well coated.

5. For maximum flavour cover with clingwrap and refrigerate for at least 3 hours. Not required though.

6. Place chicken wings in baking tray lined with a silicone mat or baking paper. Make sure wings have a little space between them.

7. Place in oven and after 20 minutes take out of the oven. Pour excess liquid carefully down the drain and then flip the wings.

8. Place back in the oven and after another 20 minutes take out and flip wings again. Then place back in oven.

9. Let cook for a further 20 minutes.

10. Remove from oven and enjoy wings as is or your favourite dip!
