Here are a few reasons why you should consider making your own too!
Why Make Fermented Ketchup

- Fermented ketchup is filled with gut healthy probiotics. Store bought ketchups are filled with nasties that are best avoided.
- It’s really flavourful!
- Simple and cheap to make: The base is tomato paste; you add some spices and whey. Literally just mix all the ingredients together and let it sit for a few days. That’s it so simple right?!
What You Need

1 1/2 cups tomato paste
2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
1/2 cup water: I use filtered water, I would not use tap water.
2 tbsp whey: Sometimes I use milk kefir as well if that’s all I have and it works as well.
1/3 cup sugar: I’d use a brown sugar over white sugar adds a better flavour. The sugar I use is rapadura sugar which is healthier but taste similar to brown sugar.
Spices 1/2 tsp of all spice, sea salt, garlic powder and onion powder
pinch of black pepper
