How to make crispy tuna fritters? (step by step)
- Put your oil or lard heated up in a medium pot or frying pan. You want the oil to be about half an inch to an inch high.
2. In a bowl mix the can tuna (I keep the liquid for extra flavour, you can drain it out if you like), salt, pepper, egg, dill and flour together.
3. It will be scoopable but not super thick which is what makes it get extra crunchy.
4. Once your fat is nice and hot scoop out about 1/4 cup worth of tuna mixture and place it into the oil carefully. I normally can fit 4 fritters in my pan at a time.
5. Let it cook for about 2 minutes on one side and flip over to the other side for another 2 minutes.
6. Remove and place on a plate that is covered with paper towel. This will let the extra oil drain out.
7. Allow the fritters to cool slightly before serving. You can serve with mayo, relish, avocado or whatever you like!

Questions and Answers
How do you store tuna fritters?
If you aren’t going to eat all your tuna fritters in one hit, you can store them in an airtight container in the fridge. I find them to last about 5 days in the fridge.
How do you keep tuna fritters from falling apart?
Adding flour and eggs help to keep the fritters from falling apart when cooking. The flour and eggs bind together forming a crunch and delicious meal.
You can let your mixture sit in a bowl for an extra 10 minutes allowing it to thicken up a bit more as the flour absorbs more of the moisture. This will help keep your fritters from falling apart.
What can you eat with tuna fritters?
Honestly, we eat tuna fritters dipped with mayonnaise and a side of crunchy, sliced, raw vegetables! You can also eat them on a salad, sliced up in a wrap, or with some rice. There really isn’t a wrong way of enjoying crunchy tuna fritters.
